Easter is always an exciting time. The word Easter always brings one thing to mind – chocolate! There can be lots of fun involved in Easter, much more than simply buying already wrapped eggs. Preparing different things at home can provide hours of fun filled moments for the entire family. Let’s take a look at some craft ideas.
Baskets! Eggs need baskets to sit in. Small paper baskets can easily be crafted, or you can buy larger wicker or other sorts of baskets and decorate them with yarn, ribbon and colored paper.
Egg painting. Take a raw egg and open a tiny hole in the smaller end of the egg, then puncture a slightly larger small hole in the other end. Shake and blow the yolk and egg white out of the inside of the egg, carefully using a utensil if necessary. Thoroughly rinse the egg out with water to avoid any foul smell. After letting the egg dry, it is ready to be painted in whatever style you choose. Useful tip: paint half the egg and place it in an egg carton to dry, then turn it over and paint the other half.
Make your own chocolate eggs. There are a variety of different mold sizes, as well as other shapes such as bunnies. Your favorite flavor of chocolate bar can be melted down and made into eggs. You can fill the eggs with small chocolate bunnies, candies or other treats before putting the two sides together. The outside of the egg can be written on with a different colored chocolate using a thin paint brush or other utensil that does the trick.
